Masterplan for regenerating Birmingham’s Perry Barr area
Plans for a new residential neighbourhood, redeveloped railway station and changes to major roads have been set out in a masterplan for regenerating Birmingham’s Perry Barr area after next year’s Commonwealth Games.
Birmingham City Council has issued its draft masterplan describing how and where 5,000 homes, a new urban centre, and transport improvements will be sited. One objective of the plan is to provide confidence to private-sector developers, investors, and businesses for a long-term commitment to the area, the local authority said.
